Meet Dawn

Dawn McDonough is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children and adolescents. Her background includes work in residential treatment settings and the public school system, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the challenges young people face across environments.

Currently, Dawn provides counseling services in a special education preschool setting, where she works closely with children who have IEPs, helping them build emotional regulation skills and confidence at a crucial stage of development.

At Child Psychology of Long Island, Dawn provides therapy for children with anxiety and mood disorders. She uses a collaborative, family-centered approach and regularly consults with schools to ensure each child receives consistent support across settings. Dawn is passionate about early intervention and creating nurturing, connected spaces where children can thrive.
