Child Psychology of Long Island

Founder, Psychologist

Dr. Bruno is a licensed psychologist, former school psychologist, and child anxiety expert who works with clients from preschool through adulthood. She brings extensive experience across special education settings, public and private schools, and intensive treatment centers, giving her a deep understanding of children’s needs across all levels of support. In addition to therapy, she is highly skilled in comprehensive assessments and evaluations.

Unlike the traditional talk therapy model offered by many clinicians, Dr. Bruno’s approach is active, engaging, and goal-driven. She focuses on teaching practical skills, building confidence, and helping families create meaningful, lasting change at home, in school, and in daily life. She uses art, games, nature, and each child’s interests to help them feel safe, motivated, and connected. Collaboration with parents, siblings, and school teams is central to her work, ensuring progress continues well beyond the session.

As a mother to a neurodivergent child, Dr. Bruno has a special passion for supporting families of children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and PDA. She is a dedicated disability advocate and helps parents navigate the educational system—preparing for important meetings and even attending CSE or 504 meetings to ensure their child receives the services and support they deserve.

Dr. Bruno also runs a group summer program called Club Confident. Club Confident is a group based treatment program for children with anxiety. The idea is to not only want to treat anxiety symptoms but also equip children with lifelong tools for healthy living and skills for managing stress. The program incorporates skills for emotion regulation, resilience, and communication in a fun and engaging environment. The program uses evidence-based interventions to support kids with various anxiety symptoms and emotional challenges.
